How do I pay my tax bill?
  1. Go to IRS Direct Pay.
  2. Click Make a Payment.
  3. Choose what you’re paying (usually Balance Due).
  4. Enter your info exactly as shown on your return.
  5. Pay with your bank account (free) or card (small fee).
For Texas state taxes, use the Texas Comptroller payment portal.
How do I check the status of my tax return?
  1. Go to Where’s My Refund?.
  2. Enter your SSN, filing status, and refund amount.
  3. Click Submit to see your status.
Amended returns: Where’s My Amended Return?. State refunds: check your state’s Department of Revenue website.
What documents do you need from me?
We usually need:
  • Income forms (W-2s, 1099s, K-1s)
  • Expense records and receipts
  • Business financials: QuickBooks P&L and Balance Sheet, bank/credit card statements

How do you want me to provide information?
  1. Go to our Client Portal Login.
  2. Sign in and drag-and-drop your files to upload.

What if I lost a tax document?
  1. Ask your employer/bank for a replacement copy.
  2. If you can’t get it, use IRS Get Transcript.
  3. Select Wage & Income Transcript to view W-2s and 1099s.

Bookkeeping & QuickBooks

How do I connect my bank to QuickBooks Online?
  1. Log in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. From the left menu, click Banking (or Transactions).
  3. Click Link Account.
  4. Search for your bank, then sign in with your bank username and password.
  5. Select the accounts to connect and click Connect.

How do I add you as my accountant in QuickBooks?
  1. Log in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Click the Settings ⚙️ icon (top right) → Manage users.
  3. Open the Accounting firms tab.
  4. Click Invite accountant and enter our email.
  5. Click Save. We’ll accept the invite.

What’s the best way to send you receipts?
  • Use the QuickBooks mobile app to snap photos and attach to transactions.
  • Upload PDFs directly into QuickBooks.
  • Or upload files to our client portal.
How often should I update QuickBooks?
Weekly. Categorize new transactions, reconcile accounts, and upload any missing receipts to keep books clean.
Can I track personal and business expenses in the same QuickBooks account?
Not recommended. Keep them separate to protect deductions and avoid IRS issues. Guidance: IRS recordkeeping rules.

Payments & Billing

How do I pay your invoice?
Click the secure payment link on your invoice and pay via ACH, debit, or credit card. For monthly plans, ask us to enable autopay.
When is payment due?
Upon receipt unless your engagement letter states otherwise.
Do you offer monthly payment plans?
Yes—available for ongoing bookkeeping and tax advisory so your costs stay predictable.

Filing & Deadlines

What is the deadline to file my business tax return?
  • S Corporations & Partnerships: March 15
  • C Corporations & Individuals: April 15
Extensions are available, but any tax due is still payable by the original date.
What happens if I miss a deadline?
Penalties and interest may apply. Contact us right away—we can help reduce or resolve charges and get you back on track.
Can you file an extension for me?
Yes—reach out before the deadline. We’ll estimate what’s due and file the extension.
How do I make estimated tax payments?
  1. Use EFTPS or the IRS Payments page.
  2. Enter the quarterly amount (we’ll calculate for you).
  3. Submit with your bank info and save the confirmation.
